I jogged tonight. In the cold. The cold felt good. Crisp and fresh. I normally really enjoy my jog because all I focus on is the running instead of juggling a thousand mental notes in my head. No kid worries, no to-do list, no work. Not so much tonight. I cussed myself mentally the whole jog because I’m pissed. I don’t want to start over! I just want to be running three miles straight already. I hate starting from scratch. Oh the humanity!
Have you ever heard a muscle tell you to f*ck off? I have, twice…if your lung’s a muscle. First, while jogging my legs started to do that “uh uh, nooo, we know what you’re doing!” thing. But I pushed through a little further. Then my quad was like, “Hell no.” And the other one, clearly a potty mouth as well, said, “F*ck off.” And they both quit, just like that. I slowed to a walk, but I don’t like to be controlled, so picked back up to jog. Screw you quads. When I got back to the house I made dinner. While eating dinner I started to get all wheezy. I took some puffs off the old inhaler. My lungs sputtered and cursed, but luckily they’re not quitters like my quads so I’m alive now to tell you this extremely embellished story. Well not really embellished, more like a fictional account of true events.
Good news? I’ve officially added exercise into the mix. Ya me!
Okay, so I got some great diet pointers from the fittest, most rockin-est pole dancing yoga booty ballet-ing horror writer I know. Not only does this friend help my soul meet body, but I’m pretty sure her advice is going to keep me alive in the event of a zombie apocalypse. Remember cardio! Anyway, let me pass this juiciness on to you.
If you’re out of peanut butter, try toast + apples slices + cinnamon. Also toasted corn tortilla with sliced banana or apple and cinnamon. The corn tortillas have less sugar. Embrace black beans. Use spaghetti squash and spinach as a substitute for noodles and include a hearty meat sauce. Embrace broccoli. Try not to eat simple carbs after 2pm….ooooh, that one’s hard, but makes absolute sense.
Alright, for the record:
I drank a lot of water today.
Bfast- low sugar oatmeal, coffee
Lunch- half of a turkey wrap from Jason’s deli, carrots, fruit (working lunch mtg)
Dinner- Pork chop, seasoned brown rice, broccoli and carrots.
